If you’re on a Mac computer with Apple Silicon, you will need to fully exit and restart Firefox after upgrading to Firefox 84+ in order for Firefox to run on the new architecture, which has faster performance and better battery life.

After updating to Firefox 84+ from an older version:

- Go to the Firefox menu at the top of the screen.
- Select Quit Firefox.
- When you re-open Firefox, you’ll be on the new architecture.
